This big ol’ hunk of orange love is Duke! We think he is barely over a year old and we know he has already been through so much! He enjoys playing, will come to you only when you’re reclined or lying down (weird, I know), and does absolutely fine with other animals and kiddos. Now, Duke does issues with his eyes watering. He frequently has tear stains and looks pitiful when the raw skin “scabs” over, but a simple warn, wet cotton ball gently cleans him up or if it doesn’t bother you, you can leave it alone. It doesn’t bother him one bit. He also requires good quality food because sometimes he has tummy issues. Not an expensive prescription, but a few extra sprinkles of probiotics on his dry food help him immensely. His foster mom has worked diligently at figuring out what works and she will be able to give you all the information you need to keep his tummy in working order. We were tempted to list him as ‘special needs’, but we prefer to call him ‘high maintenance’. Only stressful situations, even the slightest bit of stress, will make his eyes water, so a very active home may not be the best fit for him. A home with other animals is perfectly fine, once he adapts to his new friends, all is well. The photos are of him in his foster home, with 8 other cats, including his sister Marmalade (who has the same eye and tummy issues and is also available for adoption).
Duke is fostered in Huntsville, AL is felv/fiv negative, up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped! His adoption fee is $25 and you can fill out an application at www.forrescue.net!
