- At Friends of Rescue, there are many ways you can support our mission beyond fostering, adopting, or volunteering. Your support helps us continue to rescue and care for animals in need.
Here’s some additional ways you can make a difference:
1. Donate $: Your donations are crucial for us to provide medical care, food, and other essentials for our foster animals. Every dollar makes a significant impact and helps us save more lives. Click Here to Donate
2. Kroger Plus Card: Support Friends of Rescue While You Shop Link your Kroger Plus Card to Friends of Rescue, and a portion of your purchases will be donated to us. Here’s how to do it:
- Get a Kroger Plus Card: Obtain one from customer service or a cashier.
- Register Your Card Online: Sign up and select Friends of Rescue (53823) as your charity.
- Swipe and Donate: Every time you swipe your card at checkout, FOR receives money!
You can also set up an “alternate ID” using your cell phone number for easy checkout. Remember, you need to designate your charity annually.
3. Use Our Chewy Affiliate Link While You Shop: When you shop through our Chewy affiliate link, a percentage of your purchase goes directly to supporting our rescue efforts. Plus, we receive $20 for every new customer who signs up!
4. Birthday Fundraisers: Raise funds for FOR through social media by hosting a birthday fundraiser. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate your special day while helping animals in need.
5. Donate and Shop the FOR Thrift Store:
- Donate your gently used items directly to the FOR Thrift Store.
- Shop at our thrift store at 705 Winchester Road, Huntsville, AL 35811.
6. Share: Share our social media posts to help spread the word about our mission and needs.
7. Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Contributions: If you’re a federal employee, consider making contributions to Friends of Rescue (34657) through the CFC. Your donations will support our rescue efforts. Click Here to Get Started
8. Shop Our Chewy Wishlist: Purchase items directly from our Chewy Wishlist to help us provide for our foster animals. When you sign up with Chewy.com using our link, we receive $20 for every new customer sign-up!
9. Amazon Wish Lists: Purchase items from our Amazon Wish Lists.
10. Deliver Items Directly: You also have the option of purchasing items elsewhere and delivering them directly to the FOR House at 705 Winchester Road, Huntsville, AL 35811. Please note that we are only open to the public on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9am-3pm through the thrift store entrance. However, you are welcome to leave your goodies on the porch of the middle shed (#3) after hours. Thank you in advance!

12. Bstow.com: It’s a round-up tool! They even have an app for your phone! You select your bank, pick your charity (we recommend Friends of Rescue, of course), and round up whenever you want to make your bank account end in .00. FOR gets the change… How about them apples! This is great for all of those OCD people that would love to have their bank account end in zero each month after reconciliation!
13. iGive App: This is an app you can download onto your PC, Mac, Android or Apple phone. You sign up, download the app, log in, and then anytime you visit a website that participates in the iGive program, you will see a little orange flower in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. Click on that flower, continue your shopping, and BAM! we get a portion of your purchase! Easy peazy!
14. Woof Trax: Support FOR simply by walking your dog! Use this free app each time you grab for the leash. Every walk counts, whether it’s a walk around the block or a three-mile hike. Magnify your impact by sharing the app with your friends and family. Download the app, select Friends of Rescue as the beneficiary, and press Go!

Friends of Rescue (FOR) is supported entirely through philanthropic donations, adoption fees, and fundraisers. As a non-profit organization, your donation is tax-deductible. FOR is run entirely by volunteers, and 100% of your donation goes to support our program. We never want to say “No” to any animal in need, even when others may have to.
